Project Kids Eat began 20 years ago as a result of a school social worker asking Campus Church for the leftover food from our annual Community Thanksgiving Meal.  She wanted to deliver the food to students that typically received breakfast and lunch at school, but on school holidays, often did not have food to eat.  We deliver food and other necessities to local extended stay hotels and 2  apartment complexes with the help of business partners and nearby churches.  Last summer we delivered over 7,000 lunches to the children living in our community with the help of over 200 volunteers.  This year we expect the need to be even greater due to unemployment being at a record high in our area.

We have taken into consideration the need to adapt Project Kids Eat due to the social distancing guidelines and other food service requirements, so helping this year will look a little different.  We will need 10 volunteers a day to simply deliver the meals to the hotels.  Our coordinators will assemble all of the meals and bring them to your car-just like curbside pickup at your favorite local restaurant. We have a system in place to assure the food will be delivered to the children in the hotels with everyone’s health and safety as a priority.

If you would like to volunteer to help deliver the meals this summer, please sign up online at the link below.  We hope you’ll join us this summer as we serve together and live the adventure filled good life in Jesus everyday!

Give to Project Kids Eat

If you would like to help support Project Kids Eat either financially or by supplying needed items for the families, we could use your help!  We will be distributing toiletry kits to the families a few times throughout the summer.  A toiletry kit includes full sizes of the following: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, deodorant, a bar of soap or body wash, and 4 toothbrushes.   We also need laundry pods and toilet paper.

Christmas Caravan 2020

Also, the Saturday before Christmas Project Kids Eat will have a caravan to go to extended stay hotels in our community to deliver a box of food, toys, toiletries, cleaning supplies and other needed items.  Please contact Julie Williams at for more information about donating to Project Kids Eat or helping.
